ABOUT US
In 2004 the couple Ferdie and Polla Haefele purchased the 3.2 hectares of property located just on the outskirts of the Lydenburg town, ideally visible to all visitors from the Dullstroom and Machadodorp roads.
Their goal was to provide a convenient and luxurious stay for visitors and motorcyclists, especially since Ferdie is an avid motorcyclist himself - the proud owner of a BMW 1100.
The name Klitz-Gras is derived from the Klitsgras plant - in actuality a weed found in the veld. Aptly named, the name suggests that staying with the Haefele family, you’ll be sure to return as fond memories of the resort will cling to you - just like the Klitsgras plant.

Several hiking trails are available on the estate to entertain young and old, with streams and exotic wild flowers a feast for the eye. |

WEDDINGS AND EVENTS
We recently unveiled our most inspired addition to the Klitz-Gras experience - a stone wedding chapel and thatched events centre.Built entirely of stone, the chapel is a delightfully elegant setting for any wedding with its lead-panelled glass windows and custom-built pulpit.
But our chapel isn’t only intended for romantic weddings and unions. Christening ceremonies and church services can be accommodated with ease , seating up to 50 people. The thatched events centre adjoining the chapel is enclosed with canvas walls that can easily be pulled up to let warm breezes through, or dropped down to keep the chilly winter winds at bay.
The canvas walls also lend a degree of variety to the venue, allowing you to modify the layout to your liking. The venue is completely furnished with a fully equiped kitchen, as well as a full set of dining tables and chairs.Visitors are most welcome to visit the chapel daily, from 08:00 to 16:30, or upon special request. A helpful assistant will be available for any inquiries you may have.
